Kevin & I went to St. Augustine again on Friday.
There's so much to do there, you can't do it all in one day.
On our way we pulled over and walked on the
Ponte Vedra beach for a little bit. It was beautiful.
The drive to St. Augustine, is right on the coast.
The beach is to the left of you, and sometimes you
can see the ocean between the beach houses. Plus
there are a few places you can park and go on
the beach. So we did...

St. Augustine
Same thing, just slow motion.
There were several peacocks walking around.
Two were all white, albino perhaps?

SO according to my blog, I have used up all the memory space,
and can't upload anymore pictures or videos. So....
Kevin and I drank the water from the "Fountain of Youth",
which is now a well that is 200ft. deep. The water is mineral water,
we didn't care for it too much, but hopefully what we did drink
will continue to keep us youthful. Is that even a word?
Next, we headed to the Fort Matanzas National Monument.
We checked it all out, and I don't know that I would've liked to live there.
The beds didn't have fabulous mattresses like the ones we have today, and
there weren't too many windows either. However it's right near the water, and
the view at the top is beautiful!! If you look at my past post, from when my
Mom visited, you can see pictures of the outside of the fort.
After that we walked to Mary's Harbor View Cafe, which isn't very
far from the fort. Kevin had a turkey BLT, and I had
grilled cheese. Yup, I'm still a kid at heart, always will be.
Once we finished eating, we headed back to the car, and drove to
the St. Augustine Lighthouse. It's black and white striped and
red at the top. Kevin and I climbed all 219 steps to the top.
Thankfully there were landings after every 30 steps or so.
Let's just say climbing all those steps after eating dinner,
isn't necessarily the best idea. Don't worry I did not
get sick, neither did Kevin. The view from the top
was beautiful!!
After we went down all the steps,we got in the car
and went to see the World's Tallest Cross. It's
208 feet high, and it "marks the approximate
site where in 1565 the cross of Christianity
was first permanently planted in what
is now the United States."
Then we got back in the car and headed home.
When we walked in the door we were greeted
by our cat, Buddy. Ok, so maybe he was sleeping,
and we woke him up, but he eventually was glad to see us.
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!!
You will have to clear out some old videos so that we can get updated Buddy videos. Glad you had a good time in St. Augustine!!
